BBC BREATHING PLACES

the project:

BBC Breathing Places created Tree O’Clock to set the nation a challenge: get out and plant 600,000 trees in one hour! (Breathing Places was a BBC Learning campaign set up to inspire people to create and care for green spaces across the UK.)
For Tree O’ Clock, the task was to create the campaign and all related comms, end to end, from posters and school packs to activity books and certificates. The audience was as broad as it gets – school children and teachers through to parents and grandparents. So the campaign had many boxes to tick, including being informative, eye-catching, rallying, engaging and inclusive. Working with Elmwood, we created the fun-loving tone of voice, and wrote all campaign and event materials. Not only did thousands of schools and organisations nationwide sign up and plant swathes of trees, the campaign also won a Guinness World Record for ‘most trees planted in one day’!
